Activated Carbon Filters are used mainly for chlorine removal but also used for dissolved gases and organic compound that give undesirable colour, taste and smell to water. Normally the activated carbon filters are placed downstream of Multigrade Filter.

Activated Carbons are made from coal,coconut shell and wood.They have very wide area (1000-1500 m2).Productivity of activated carbon filter is determined by features of activated carbon in filter, raw water quality and correct selection of filtration velocity.

ACF comprises of vessels available in MS, SS and FRP containing the media,provided externally with a valve and piping to direct and control flow of water during treatment and for cleaning.

The vessel is provided with inlet and outlet header lateral arrangement/bell mouth/strainer box for distribution/ uniform collection.

ACF is provided along with all piping,valves,filter media,instruments and accessories.
